Nine graduate from Dental Assisting program
Submitted by webmaster on Wed, 09/16/2009 - 08:18 A ceremony at the Cattaraugus-Allegany BOCES Center in Olean was recently held to recognize the nine most recent graduates of BOCES' Dental Assisting program. The students completed a one-year, 620-hour course that is approved by the New York State Education Department. They are now eligible to take the state's Dental Assisting licensing examination and start their careers. The graduates included: Jennifer L. Clark, Olean; Alicia L. Cunha, Allegany; Marilyn M. DeVries, Caneadea; Deanna L. Douglas, Ceres; Chelsie C. Dunham, Wellsville; Danielle A. Franklin, Wellsville; Emily A. Johnson, Wellsville; Sarah L. Roof, Olean; Rochelle K. Vosburg; Franklinville Instructors Donna Donovan and Catherine Pettit guided the students through the curriculum as well as 200-hour internships at various local dental offices. BOCES Coordinator of Health Occupations Catherine Tomerlin said four of the 10 graduates are already employed as dental assistants.
