3 Students will examine the parts of the USDA Food Pyramid, journal their food choices and analyze those choices, identify the variety of foods to be eaten from each food group, and read and compare food labels for nutritional value. They will also describe and demonstrate the functions of the major parts of the digestive system. The skills emphasized in the kit are brainstorming, discussing, collecting data, interpreting data, making decisions, generalizing, classifying, measuring, and analyzing.
