API 1104 Standards & ASME 9 introduction will be covered in this class. API 1104 covers the gas and arc welding of butt, fillet, and socket welds in carbon and low-alloy steel piping used in the compression, plumbing and transmission of crude petroleum, petroleum products, fuel gases, carbon dioxide, and nitrogen and, where applicable, covers welding on distribution systems. ASME Section 9 will also be taught in this class. Welding qualifications to ASME 9 are for use with the ASME pipe work codes. (Pre-requisite: Must be able to weld a test plate - SHAW requirements).
