This 30-hour course is designed to explore the basics of systems that deal with the engine, fuel, and powertrain. Topics discussed will be Basics of Engine Design, Ignition Systems, Fuel Systems, Suspension and Steering, Wheel Alignment, Tires and Wheels, Struts and Shocks, Wheel Bearings, Brakes, and Exhaust Systems. Class consists of 20% classroom theory, 80% hands on instruction, and is designed to encourage people with very little experience to attend. Auto repair is becoming very complicated, with sensors sending signals to engine management systems that are interacting with power train control modules. Because of this new technology, diagnosing and repairing these vehicles is becoming more challenging.
